Ringleader Bio

Hello! My name is Roxanne Lane, and I’ll be your Ringleader for the evening!

I created The Olympian Above Ground Circus as a way of bringing our community together and make people happy. (Click here for the full Mission Statement). I am currently working for EverydayOlympia.com as a journalist, and attending South Puget Sound Community College. Someday I will graduate and become the most amazing social worker to ever hit Olympia… but until then, I’m bringing as much joy to my city as I can through The Circus.

I play the piano and the guitar… I am constantly drawing and putting art all over everything I own, and I love to climb trees and ride the bicycle. If I had my way, I would learn 10 new things every day. I love to read and I love going to college… First and foremost, I guess I see myself as a writer… I have a kids book that’s ready to publish! (Known any publishers??)

I spend a huge amount of time volunteering for various non-profit agencies. In the past I have volunteered for Partners in Prevention Education, Rosie’s Place, Bread and Roses, Community Youth Services, The Youth Advisory Board, Girls Be Girls, and more. I spent some time volunteering at a women’s shelter, and at Renaissance Village in New Orleans, a Katrina victim relocation site. I would love to work with SafePlace someday.

In a nutshell, I feel like my purpose in life is to make the people around me happy and improve the general quality of life. I can’t stand watching people feel sad and not doing anything about it. If you feel like we share this goal, please contact me. Anyone can become a part of The Circus!

  1. Hey-
Here via Olyblog, and wanted to say that I think you all are doing awesome things. If you ever need another body for dressing up and blowing bubbles and dancing around on stilts, contact me at nicole_cipri at yahoo .com
    Keep up the good work!

    • Absolutely! We definately want you to get involved. I am so glad to hear that you like what we’re doing. It means a lot! We’ll be downtown for Arts Walk if you want to stop by and say hello…. in the einmaleins parkinglot on Washington and State.

      Thank you so much!!!!
